b.1994, Nayarit, Mexico
Yumnia’s work is deeply rooted in the
landscapes of Nayarit and Guanajuato, which
significantly influenced her creative development.
Yumnia’s artwork integrates essential colors and objects
into deconstructed landscapes within isolated shapes.
These shapes interact and merge, reflecting collective
perspectives and spaces. Through her art, Yumnia
encapsulates her personal experiences and invites
viewers to join her in exploring the evolving landscapes
of the place she had been.
After moving to Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, Yumnia’s
artistic perspective underwent a notable transformation.
In this new environment, she focuses on capturing
physical and emotional abstraction through her art.
Her objective is to document the landscapes and
the nuances of her adaptation to this region. This is represented through pictorial depictions of poetic
natural phenomena.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastic Arts and a
Master’s Degree in Arts from Guanajuato University.
Her dedication to her craft was recognized with the award of the
prestigious PECDA scholarship in Nayarit for the 2018-
2019 period, and her work was showcased at the XIX
Bienal de Pintura Rufino Tamayo.
