Alday Hunken Gallery proudly presents our inaugural exhibition, "Physical Landscapes," in partnership with Impossible Currency. “Physical Landscapes" marks a pivotal showcase representing a fragment of the contemporary art scene in Mexico. The exhibition features works by artists who are actively challenging traditional methods, themes, and conceptions of painting within their unique contexts. These works explore the interplay between the corporeal, the abstract, and the material.
While the influence of Mexican art is discernible in the elements of these works, it is clear that the artists are forging their own distinct voices. The exhibition is notably focused on a new generation of female artists who are not only redefining painting, but also critically examining how relationships are expressed and perceived in the arts.
